Pronghorn Products, LLC began as Arrlean's Treasure in early 2005. I will always be a pirate at heart, but the high desert life outside of Boise has captured me. We look out across the rolling sage covered land and watch pronghorn antelope, deer, birds of prey and various smaller birds and creatures thrive in this environment.
I love to make candy and sweets and hate to cook dinner. Every year at Christmas I make treats and goodies to give to friends. When people tasted this nut crunch they wanted to buy it for themselves, so I started the business. Even though candy isn't "good" for you, I pride myself on making candy with ingredients you can read.
Through the University of Idaho, Food Technology Center I took some classes for starting a Specialty Food business. They provide an approved kitchen and lots of equipment for rent, and that allows many small businesses to thrive. It took me three years now to get the process right and make large batches of candy that I can sell. Believe me, I threw away A LOT of candy getting to this point. Nut crunch is not made like peanut brittle, so the recipe must be done exactly right so that it is crisp.
The cool wraps came from working in the summer heat selling candy. They are a nice way to cool off and I probably send more to soldiers than I sell.
I hope you like the products we make. This has been a labor of love that is finally coming out the way I intended it to. Thanks for taking the time to read my story.
